Meet Employee Spotlight Garth Moore
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
Most family and friends know this but for 30+ years, I’ve been a toy collector. My personal collection of Star Wars toys to date has over 3,000 individual pieces. I’ve also collected other toy lines like Master of the Universe, GI Joe, and Transformers but Star Wars is by far the mainline I’ve focused on in my collection.
What is your favorite food? Why did you pick this as your favorite?
Pizza is a favorite for sure! Easy to make and easy to create your own. I can’t remember a time I ever had a bad pizza.
When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to own a toy store and in 2021, that dream came partially true! My wife and I started a little side gig….an online toy collector website called PopFixxToyz. It’s not a brick-and-mortar store like I imagined it would be back when I was a kid, but still pretty cool to say we own a toy store now!
What kind of activities do you like to do with your friends or family?
Camping! We have a camper in Akron/Canton Jellystone in the Hartville area of Ohio. We have a lot of family and friends come out and enjoy the time with us out there…great memories!
What was your favorite vacation?
Disney and Universal! Still some of our favorite vacations with our kids.
What made you want to work where you’re at now?
Alliance just seemed like the type of company I wanted to work for and I’m grateful to be on their team.
Before working at your current job, what was the most interesting job you had?
DJ…it was a short time in the ’90s that I was a house music DJ. Now it’s just a hobby and something I do for friends/family at events they have.
What do you look forward to most when you walk into work?
I’m just happy to walk back into the office after 2020. Working remote has its perks but being back at the office working with people you enjoy being around is what I’ve missed the most.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
Helping people and companies find each other!
What advice would you give to someone looking for a job right now?
Find and work with an experienced recruiter that specializes in your industry or that specializes in your type of job.
What led you to a career in staffing?
My uncle had worked in recruiting and offered me the opportunity. I started in 1999 and here we are 20 years later…I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the time I’ve spent in the recruiting business.
